Nike Air Force 1 07 SE 'Speed Red'

Nike Air Force 1 07 SE 'Speed Red'

The Air Force One was the first Nike sneaker that used Nike Air technology, with its original purpose for basketball, but, over the years it's shifted towards casual wear. A great addition to any outfit. In a matter of months Nike have dropped a handful of suede AF1s in: Glacier Grey, Particle Pink, Mushroom, Black, Purple, Speed Red & Mineral Yellow all featuring gum soles. We hope you were lucky enough to cop at least one of them.

Price: £74.99

Colorway: Speed Red/Speed Red

Retailers: Office - Offspring

LOOK

Don't you just love a suede upper, great on the eye and feels just as good, but, of course it comes with creasing, not to worry this will be covered later on. The outsole is made from sturdy rubber with the obvious ridges to increase grip and stability. At the bottom of the tongue complementing the laces you can find a red lace jewel with 'AF1' printed across it, this can be found on the majority of AF1s. Intricate stitching is visible across the entirety of the upper, including that of the Nike tick. Moving to the heel you can find 'Nike Air' printed into the heel tab.

PRICE

Is the price justified? Yes. This sneaker does everything you want and need it to, looks great, feels great, is comfortable, has a lot of wear in it and is affordable. Put it this way, if you can spend £120+ on an AM97, AM95 or AM Plus, you can easily drop £75 on the Air Force 1. For limited edition colorways in particular, you're less likely to see people walking around in the same sneakers as you, if that matters. It's definitely a student friendly price, even more so with student discount, UK students remember to check UNiDAYS before purchasing.

FIT

The most important piece of information you need to know about the AF1 is that it runs large!

When you buy a pair make sure to go down half a size, save yourself from unnecessary creasing that will ultimately ruin your crep. The insole provides cushioning and the thickness of the outsole increases durability and comfort. However, if you wear these sneakers daily and do ten toes (walk) the heel will get worn and begin to eat out the inside of the shoe just above where the insole sits.

FASHION

First and foremost, steer clear of bootcuts. Although they were popping when rappers wore them with the Air Force 1 in the early 2000s, that is no longer the case in 2018. For any Air Force 1, whether it has a gum sole or is the OG version you can never go wrong with an all black outfit, we're gonna keep it simple here but, of course feel free to style your outfit however you wish.

WINTER

Jackets: Coach | Parka | Cord

CREASE PREVENTION TIPS

  1. Go down half a size for a snug fit.

  2. If you'll be driving, manual or automatic: avoid AF1s altogether.

  3. Shoe shields can be purchased online via Sneaker Science.

  4. Stuffing your sneakers with newspaper or socks after every wear helps them keep their shape.

  5. When walking, apply pressure to your heel rather than your toes.

As always we'd love to read your thoughts and opinions, especially if you own the Air Force 1.
